White iPhones “more challenging” says Apple, unavailable until mid-July. Well, that’s interesting — Apple has just posted an official statement on its site that says the white iPhone 4s have been “more challenging to manufacture than expected,” and therefore won’t be available until late July. No further statement is given, but it looks like if you were waiting until you get a white version of the new iPhone, you’ll have to wait a little longer. That also explains why you couldn’t preorder that color — they weren’t actually made yet.
As for what the challenge may be, we have no idea. Is it tough to make perfectly white material for that back panel? It could just be, of course, that Apple had some unforeseeable problem on a certain production line, leaving the white models in the lurch.

Tomorrow is the 2010 Aids Walk New York, where New Yorkers will mark 25 years of raising money for care, prevention, services and support of people with AIDS.
Helping to fund the Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC) one goal of the 25th anniversary is to re-ignite HIV/AIDS awareness and to heighten the understanding that one individual can make a difference.
Last year’s AIDS Walk New York raised $5.6 million for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and advocacy programs.
GMHC is a nonprofit that “fights to end the AIDS epidemic and uplift the lives of all affected.” Through the AIDS Walk New York and its long list of celebrity supporters including Whoopi Goldberg, Hilary Duff, Alec Baldwin, Nathan Lane, Jon Stewart, Cyndi Lauper, Patti LaBelle, and Harvey Fierstein, GMHC “proudly strides its way into a quarter century of giving back, lifting up and taking in those who need it.”
